Adhering to the Los Angeles Soft-Story Retrofit Program, required the owners of the apartment building located in Los Angeles at 536 N. Sweetzer Avenue to find and hire a credible retrofitting contractor. The owners, after extensive research and multiple contractor interviews, have selected Retrofitting360 as their retrofitting contractor of choice.

Since this apartment building was constructed before 1980 it had to be retrofitted in order to meet the modern seismic requirements set by the soft-story retrofitting ordinance to gain the strength to withstand shaking in earthquake.

After an initial meeting with the apartment building's owners we have conducted a site evaluation at absolutely no cost to them. The evaluation included a complete walk through of the property by one of our specialists who analyzed and assessed the condition in which the building was in and compiled a list of all necessary items needed in order for the building to comply with the Los Angeles soft-story ordinance. Following the evaluation, we've provided the Los Angeles apartment building's owners an initial proposal.

After evaluating multiple proposals, and selecting us as their contractor of choice, we have moved on to the engineering phase and got our plans approved by LADBS, The approval process was smooth and our soft-story retrofitting plans were approved and permits were issued.

With permits in place, we have now moved on with the apartment retrofit project and after testing for lead and asbestos, construction began. During a period lasing just a few weeks, we've all aspects of the retrofit were completed including necessary demolition, groundwork, and installations of seismic retrofit systems.

To finalize the project, LADBS was invited to inspect our work so that we could pour the concrete and provide the finishing touches needed to ensure the new construction blends in with the building with matching paint. LADBS has then been invited for a final inspection and issued their soft-story retrofit certificate of compliance.
