Retrofitting 360 Provides Soft Story Retrofit Services for Los Angeles Building Valley Village, California

Retrofitting 360 is proud to have completed the soft story retrofit project for our client. The project consisted of foundation, roof and wall anchors. The building was a wood frame, 7-8 units, 2 or more stories, tuck-under parking, and wood-framed apartment building. Our client chose us because of our vast experience, customer service, and excellent workmanship.

The retrofit project was necessary to prevent damage to the building and property, protect the asset, provide income protection for the owner, protect lives of tenants, and comply with the Los Angeles soft story ordinance. The foundation was constructed by digging out the concrete foundation, installing reinforced concrete foundation walls and a new steel beam with a new concrete footing. The roof and wall anchors were installed by drilling holes in the roof and walls and inserting a threaded bolt, bolt plate, and turnbuckle. The bolts were tightened with a wrench to secure the bolts in place. The project was completed in two months.
